GAM High School Teams Get FREE GAM Golf Card Memberships

The Golf Association of Michigan is excited to offer free GAM Golf Memberships for all high school golfers (who are 17 and under at the start of the year) in the state of Michigan.  In order to sign up, high school coaches must input all of their players contact information so that they will receive all of their GAM Golf Card Membership benefits (Home address, birthdate, e-mail address, and cell phone numbers). The Head Golf Coach from every high school golf team will also be awarded a free GAM Golf Card Membership, the coach must also input all of their contact information into the GAM’s database so that you too will receive all of your member benefits.

These memberships will provide many benefits to both the players and coach. Including:
  • Official GAM/USGA Handicap Index
  • Ability to track team and individual performance across a season
  • Swing and Save discounts at 200 + Michigan courses when you show your GAM Golf Card
  • Annual subscription to Golf Digest or Golf World
  • Ability to compete in our Junior Championships
  • Ability to for the golf coaches to play in one day events, GAM Golf Days
  • Ability to book tee times on our website by clicking “Exclusive Tee Time”

39th Michigan Girls' Junior State Amateur
Washtenaw Golf Club
6/25/2017 - 6/28/2017

Washtenaw Golf Club will host the Michigan Girls’ Junior State Amateur for the first time in its history. Likely to reach its capacity quickly, players are encouraged to sign up early for the best Junior Girls competition in the state. Entry fee includes range balls each day and lunch following one of the stroke-play rounds.

Who: Girls, 18 and under

Sunday-Wednesday, June 25-28

Washtenaw GC

Format: 36-Holes of stroke play with the low 16 advancing to match play.

The low 8 players, 15-and-under from the 36-hole stroke play will advance to a separate match play bracket.             

Players that finish in the top 16 overall and are 15 years old or under will compete in the Championship bracket.

Tournament Schedule

Sunday, June 25: First Round of Stroke-Play Qualifying.

Monday, June 26: Second Round of Stroke-Play Qualifying. 

Tuesday, June 27: First & Second Rounds of Match Play. 

Wednesday, June 28:
Semifinal and Final Matches.

1st GAM 14 & Under Match Play Championship

The GAM 14 & Under Match Play Championship is open to boys and girls ages 14 & Under as of July 17, 2017. The GAM 14 & Under Match Play Championship is designed for junior golfers of all abilities and experiences. The championship will be limited to the first 32 boys and 16 girls that register, and will be a combination of both stroke play and match play.

After 12 holes of stroke-play qualifying, players will be seeded into match-play flights of eight players each. Players will play three matches against other players of similar ability levels.

Tournament Format:

Monday, July 17

  • 7:30 AM – 12 holes of stroke play (Shotgun Start)

  • Box lunch provided to players

  • 11:00 AM-2:00 PM – Match #1 (Tee times)

Tuesday, July 18

  • 7:30-10:30 AM – Match #2 (Tee times)

  • Box lunch provided to players

  • 11:00 AM-2:00 PM – Match #3 (Tee times)

The 39th Michigan Junior State Amateur will be at Eagle Eye Golf Club, host of the 2016 Michigan Amateur Championship. An excellent site known for its unique design and demanding approach shots, Eagle Eye GC will host 84 players looking to earn the 2017 version of the Michigan Junior State Amateur.

Who: Boys, 18 and under
When: Sectional qualifiers held throughout July, Championship - July 31 – August 3
Where: Eagle Eye Golf Club
Format: 18-hole sectional qualifiers, Championship - 36-hole stroke play, low 32 advancing to match play

9th GAM Junior Stroke Play Championship
Forest Akers Golf Course (Forest Akers Golf Course - East)
8/10/2017 - 8/11/2017

A proving ground for young players looking to gain experience in GAM tournaments, the 8th GAM Junior Stroke Play Championship will be held at Forest Akers GC – East on the Michigan State campus. This is a two-day competition for Boys and Girls with age divisions at 13-15 and 12-and-Under. Players may play up a division if they choose. Entry fee includes use of the driving range prior to both rounds and lunch for the players following the first round.

Who: Boys and Girls, 15 and under
When: Thursday-Friday, August 10-11 
Where: Forest Akers GC – East
Format: 13-15 Divisions: 36-hole stroke play, 18 each day | 12-and-Under Divisions: 18-hole stroke play, 9 each day

  • Boys 13-15 Champion = 1 Star
  • Girls 13-15 Champion = 1 Star
