Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your entry into the 14th Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Burning Tree Golf & Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, June 26-27, 2017.

Please be aware Monday’s Matches will begin in the Afternoon.

TOURNAMENT DATE: Monday, June 26th – Tuesday, June 27th 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Located 1 mile West of I-94 on the N side of 21 Mile Rd.

PRACTICE ROUND:   Please contact Burning Tree Golf & Country Club for availability.  Call (586) 463-3661 and identify yourself as a Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur competitor. 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  The Clubhouse will have food available to purchase.  Complimentary lunch will be served between rounds on June 27th for contestants only.

CADDIES/CARTS:  Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be submitted to tournamententry@gam.org and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept.

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the days of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range opens daily one hour before the first tee time.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

MATCH PLAY – USGA General numerical draw shall be used.  The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as      necessary for the match to be won. 

Monday, June 26: PM – First-round matches in all flights  

Tuesday, June 27:
AM – Semifinal matches in all flights 
AM - Consolation Matches in all flights
PM – Final matches in all flights  
PM – Consolation Final Matches in all flights
