Competition Dates: May 30th- June 2nd

This correspondence will verify your entry into the 9th GAM Senior Match Play Championship at Flint Golf Club on Tuesday through Friday, May 30 – June 2, 2017.

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to I-475 to the Bristol Road exit. Go east to Saginaw Street. Go north on Saginaw past Atherton and Applegate Chevrolet Used Car and Truck lot. Go east at light at Livingston and then right at the stop sign.. Follow Lakewood drive to the club.

Tuesday, May 30 – 18 holes, stroke play; the low 32 Senior Players qualify for Match Play & Low 16 Super Senior Players qualify for Super Senior Match Play Division (Lunch provided to all players between morning and afternoon waves. Morning wave players will eat after their round, afternoon wave players before their round.

Match Play: General numerical USGA draw shall be used.
The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won.

Wednesday, May 31: Morning – 16 Matches for Senior Division & 8 Matches for Super Senior Division
Wednesday, May 31: Afternoon – 8 Matches for Senior Division
Thursday, June 1: Morning – 4 Matches for each Division
Thursday, June 1: Afternoon – 2 Semifinal Matches for each Division
Friday, June 2: Morning – Final Match for each Division

LODGING: Hampton Inn & Suites - Flint/Grand Blanc - 6060 Rachelle Drive, Flint, MI 48507. Call the hotel at 810-234-8400 to reserve a room. The block is under the Golf Association of Michigan. We have secured a discounted rate of $103+tax/fees per night for Monday and Thursday. On Tuesday and Wednesday the rate is $119+tax/fees.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (810) 743-6750.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Senior Match Play contestants.

FOOD:  On Tuesday, lunch will be provided for the players.  Afternoon players must eat before their round. The clubhouse will have food available for purchase on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to ride. Caddies are not allowed.  Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  

GPS AND RANGEFINDERS: DMD's that measure distance only are allowed in this competition. if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

PLAYOFF:  A sudden-death playoff for the final spot(s) in both divisions will take place immediately after the final scores have been posted.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
