Gowanie Golf Club
This correspondence will verify your entry into the 106th Michigan Amateur Sectional Qualifying at Gowanie Golf Club on Friday, May 11, 2018. 


TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take Metro Pkwy (16 Mile Road) to Crocker. Go north on Crocker to Reimold. Turn right (E) on Reimold and take to S. River Road. Go (W) on S. River Road to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS:  24770 S. River Road, Mt. Clemens, MI 48046.

LODGING:  Comfort Inn (586) 465-2185.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (586) 468-1374. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Amateur Qualifying contestants.


FOOD:  The clubhouse will have food available for purchase.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE: There is no practice range at Gowanie GC. Limited hitting nets are available for warmup purposes. 

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
