This correspondence will verify your entry into the 107th Michigan Amateur Qualifying at The Emerald Golf Course on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018. 


TOURNAMENT DATE: Wednesday, May 9th 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS:  Take I-96 W to US-127 N to Maple Rapids Road. Club is located 7 miles N of St. Johns.

LODGING: Sleep Inn, 1101 Commerce Park Drive, DeWitt, 517-669-8823.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (989) 224-6287.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Amateur Qualifying contestants.  

FOOD:   Food will be available for purchase at the clubhouse.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: The following Rule applies to players and caddies. In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time.

PLAYOFF:  Should there be a tie for the final qualifying spot or two (2) alternates, a playoff will start immediately after all scores have been posted.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
