Ada’s Egypt Valley Country Club – Classic Course will play host to the 106th Michigan Amateur for a second time when the state’s most prestigious amateur championship heads to this prestigious venue June 20-24.
In addition to hosting the Michigan Amateur in 1994, the facility has a stellar record of welcoming elite competition. Egypt Valley was the home of a PGA TOUR Champions Tournament from 1994-2004, and hosted the US Junior Amateur Championship in 2010.
For competitors not exempt, sectional qualifying for the 106th Michigan Amateur will be contested at 13 sites from May 9-June 3. There will also be a Second Chance Qualifier held at Owosso Country Club on June 7.
The Michigan Amateur begins with two rounds of stroke play, over a two-day period. At the completion of stroke play, the field is cut to 64 for the first round of match play. Match play continues for three days and six rounds until a champion emerges on the final afternoon of the tournament. As with all GAM events, spectators are welcome and admission is free.
