SUBJECT: Women’s GAM Championship @ Saginaw Country Club


This correspondence will verify your qualification for the GAM Women’s Championship at Saginaw Country Club Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14, 2007.

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing. sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

INFORMATION

2ND ROUND PAIRINGS: Will be available via www.gam.org and via phone; a number will be posted on the scoreboard.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @ GAM.org, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / GAM Women’s Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to Holland Ave .Go west off the exit. Holland Ave. will turn into M-46 (Gratiot Ave.) which will bring you to Saginaw Country Club. The club is located about 6 miles west of I-75.

CLUB ADDRESS: 4465 Gratiot Ave., Saginaw, MI 48603.

LODGING: Four Points by Sheraton, Town Centre Rd., Saginaw (989) 790-5050.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (989) 793-3461. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Championship contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
FOOD: A complimentary lunch will be available on both days of the competition after play.

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Pull carts may be used if the club allows them.

PRACTICE RANGE: Opens at 8:00 a.m. and is complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted. All other ties will be decided by a method recommended by the USGA. This method states that we must match cards to determine the winner based on the best score for the last nine holes. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the low gross finishers in each flight. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Betty Richart Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
