Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your entry for the GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Plum Edgewood Country Club on Tuesday June 12 and Wednesday June 13, 2007.

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

INFORMATION

2nd ROUND PAIRINGS: Will be available via www.gam.org and via phone, a number will be posted on the scoreboard.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-275 to M-5 N to Pontiac Trail. Go E on Pontiac Trail to Haggerty Rd. Go N on Haggerty until it dead ends at Richardson Rd. Turn left on Richardson Rd. Turn right on Union Lake Rd. Turn left on Commerce Rd.

CLUB ADDRESS: 8399 Commerce Road, Commerce Twp., MI 48382

LODGING: Hampton Inn, Commerce Twp. (248-624-8100). Identify yourself as a Mid-Am contestant to receive a special rate if your reservation is made by May 28, 2007.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (248) 363-7111. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD: A complimentary lunch buffet will be available each day in the clubhouse after each round.

CADDIES/CARTS: Players may walk during the stipulated round or use automotive transportation. Players are responsible for their own cart fees during the championship. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Carts are not permitted for caddies or spectators. Pull carts are allowed if the club allows them.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Open 7:00 a.m.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted. All other ties will be decided by a method recommended by the USGA. This method states that we must match cards to determine the winner based on the best score for the last nine holes. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the low gross and low net finishers in each flight. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Jeanne L. Myers Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
