This correspondence will verify your entry into the 3rd Michigan Senior Net Amateur at Flint Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019.  

INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATE: Tuesday, Sept. 3 – Wednesday, Sept. 4 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter. In the event of a shotgun start, please be to your assigned cart 15 minutes prior to the starting time.

SECOND-ROUND PAIRINGS:  Will be available via www.gam.org and via phone.

DIRECTIONS:  Take I-75 to I-475 to the Bristol Road exit. Go east to Saginaw Street. Go north on Saginaw past Atherton and Applegate Chevrolet Used Car and Truck lot. Go east at light at Livingston and then right at the stop sign.. Follow Lakewood drive to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS:  3100 Lakewood Drive, Flint, MI 48507.

LODGING: Hampton Inn & Suites, 6060 Rashelle Dr Flint, MI 48507.  (810) 234-8400. We have reserved a group rate of $124/night for King room and $114/night for a 2 Queen room. The cut-off date is August 12. The group name is "GAM" and the group code is "GMA".  

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (810) 743-6750.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as a Michigan Senior Net Amateur Contestant. Please be aware availability may be limited over the holiday weekend. 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: DMD's that measure distance only are allowed. In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

FOOD:  There is a complimentary luncheon for players only on both days of the tournament.  

DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.  Those inappropriately attired may be asked to change clothes before being allowed access to the course.  The GAM will adhere to any more specific dress code required by a host facility.

CADDIES/CARTS:  Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in a player cart. There will be no caddies or allowed. A maximum of 2 carts per group. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be submitted to tournamententry@gam.org and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept.

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time.

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a three-hole playoff (cumulative net) for the overall championship.  

WITHDRAWAL:
  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions. Refunds will be issued if the GAM office is notified prior to the close of entries for that competition. After the entry deadline, fees will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness (with a verified doctor's note). There is a $20 processing fee applied to all refunds.
