Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your entry into the 21st GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Polo Fields Golf & Country Club on Sunday, June 30 and Monday, July 1.  

INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATE: Sunday, June 30 – Monday, July 1

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

SECOND-ROUND PAIRINGS:  Second-round pairings will be available via www.gam.org

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to Zeeb Rd. (exit 169) Go S 1 mile. The club entrance is on the left.

CLUB ADDRESS:  5200 Polo Fields Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48103

LODGING: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express Ann Arbor West (323 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, MI, 48103) for a rate of $139 per night plus tax. The group name is "GAM". Call 734.827.1100 to make a reservation and the cut-off date is June 10. 

PRACTICE ROUND:
  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 998-3456. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  Lunch will be available for players on both days of the competition. Sunday’s lunch will be prior to the first round, while Monday’s lunch be following the final round. 

CADDIES/CARTS: Caddies are not permitted in this Championship. Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Mid-Amateur Championship and 19-24 Division will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by the card matching method recommended by the USGA. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: The overall low gross scorer in the Mid-Amateur Division will have her name engraved on the Jeanne L. Myers Trophy. The 19-24 Division will award a prize for low gross ONLY. All other divisions/flights must have at least 7 participants for a low net prize to be awarded in addition to a low gross prize.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions. Refunds will be issued if the GAM office is notified prior to the close of entries for that competition. After the entry deadline, fees will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness (with a verified doctor's note). There is a $20 processing fee applied to all refunds.
