Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your entry into the 15th Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at The Moors Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday, July 11-12, 2018.

* Please be aware Wednesday’s Matches will begin in the Afternoon.*

TOURNAMENT DATE: Wednesday, July 11th – Thursday, July 12th 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take US-131 to West Center Road. Go E on West Center Road to Moorsbridge Road. Go N on Moorsbridge Road to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS: 7877 Moorsbridge Road, Portage, MI 49002.

LODGING: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Kalamazoo West, 2747 Eleventh St., Kalamazoo. Call (269) 375-6000 to make your reservation under the group name “Women’s Senior”. The rate is $99/night and the cutoff date is June 11.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (269) 323-8873. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD: Complimentary lunch will be served between rounds on July 12th for contestants only.

CADDIES/CARTS: Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Caddies are not allowed. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the days of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range opens daily one hour before the first tee time.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.

MATCH PLAY – Flights and seeding are based on current Handicap Index.  The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as      necessary for the match to be won.
