This correspondence will verify your entry into the 6th GAM Women’s Four-Ball Championship at Oak Pointe CC – Championship Course on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26, 2016.  


TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter. First round tee times are listed below the tournament information.

Tuesday’s Round is an 8:00am Shotgun Start. Please be in your carts ready to receive announcements 20 minutes prior to the Shotgun starting time.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-96 to exit 147 (Spencer). Take Spencer through Brighton to Club House Drive.

CLUB ADDRESS:  4500 Club Drive, Brighton, MI 48116.

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott Brighton, 7799 Conference Center Drive. Brighton, MI 48114. (810) 225-9200. Rooms will be available at a rate of $119/night plus taxes and the drop-dead date is June 24. The group name is “GAM Women” and the group code is “GAM”.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (810) 227-9194.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Four-Ball contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. 

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be available each day in the clubhouse after each round for competitors only. 

CADDIES/CARTS: Automotive transportation is mandatory in this Championship and cart fees are included in the entry fee. Only two carts per group will be allowed. Caddies are not permitted. No spectators will be allowed to ride in carts

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Range will be open one hour before first tee time.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Champion in either division only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by the card matching method recommended by the USGA.  (Appendix I, Part C, paragraph 11). It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the 1st gross and net teams in both divisions based on the total number entries. There must be a minimum of five (5) teams competing in a division to be eligible for gross and net prizes. The overall Champions’ names will be engraved on the Hiestand –Garety Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
