This correspondence will verify your qualification for the GAM Women’s Championship at Polo Fields G&CC – Ann Arbor on Monday & Tuesday, July 11-12, 2016.

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.


2ND ROUND PAIRINGS: Will be available via www.gam.org and via phone, a number will be posted on the scoreboard.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @ GAM.org, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / GAM Women’s Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to Zeeb Rd. (exit 169) Go S 1 mile. The club entrance is on the L.

LODGING: A block of rooms are reserved at Holiday Inn Express Inn & Suites – Ann Arbor (West) 323 N. Zeeb Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Please contact 734-827-1100 and the group block name is “Golf Association of Michigan” and the group code is “GAM”. The cut-off date is June 22nd. 

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 998-3456. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Championship contestants.  

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. 

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be available on both days of the competition after play.  

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. A player is allowed to have a parent or guardian serve as her caddie during a stipulated round. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk.  Pull carts may be used if the club allows them.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Range will open one hour before the first tee time. 

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by a method recommended by the USGA.  This method states that we must match cards to determine the winner based on the best score for the last nine holes. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) low gross finishers. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Betty Richart Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
