This correspondence will verify your entry for the 100th Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship on Monday, August 8 through Friday August 12, 2016.
Please note Monday's play will begin at 9 a.m., and your tee time and starting hole assignment are found in the enclosed pairing sheets. You MUST register prior to the Shotgun and you MUST have your Player Bio completed at this time. Monday registration will open at 7:30 a.m. You will also be signing a tournament scroll and be given your Player Gifts at this time
DIRECTIONS: Take US-23 to exit 80 (Torrey Road). Turn right on Torrey Road. Turn right on North Road. Turn left on E Rolston Road. Turn right on Ripley Road to the club.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (810) 735-7836. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Women’s Amateur contestants.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is two strokes on the first offense and disqualification on any subsequent offense, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.
FOOD: Lunch will be provided for the players after the first or second round. The Clubhouse will have food available to purchase.
CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Carts are not permitted for caddies or spectators. Push carts may be used if the club allows them.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Range will open one hour before the first tee time.
WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
CHAMPIONS' DINNER: All players are invited to attend the Champions' Dinner taking place at Spring Meadows CC on Monday of the tournament. The reception will begin a 5 p.m. and dinner will start at 6 p.m. The gathering will feature a panel discussion with past champions. A player may be accompanied by 2 guests, and the cost is $25 per person. You may register to attend at this link.
SWEET 16 DINNER: Players who reach the Sweet 16 (win one match on Wednesday) are requested to attend the sweet sixteen dinner in their honor on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Spring Meadows CC. The reception will start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:00 p.m. All Michigan Woman Amateur contestants and guests are welcome to attend. Players are entitled to one guest and all other guests will be charged a fee of $25 per person. Any player who advances to the round of sixteen will be a guest of the GAM. Dressy attire!!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
STROKE PLAY – 36-hole qualifying to determine 32 players for match play.
Monday August 8 - First round, 18 holes, stroke play. Tee times begin at 8:30 AM
Tuesday August 9 - Second round, 18 holes, stroke play. Should there be a tie for final qualifying spots, a sudden death playoff shall start immediately after all scores have been posted. Tee times begin at 8:30AM
MATCH PLAY – USGA General numerical draw shall be used. The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as necessary for the match to be won.
Wednesday August 10 - Round of 32, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM
Thursday August 11 - AM – Round of 16, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM
PM – Round of 8, 18 holes
Friday August 12 - AM – Semifinal matches, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 and 8:15
PM – Final Match, 18 holes
