Championship Player Memo


Morning round - SHOTGUN START – 8:30 a.m. 

Afternoon round will also be SHOTGUN starting roughly at 1:30 p.m.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to exit 32 (West Road). Go E on West Road to Allen Road. Go S (right) to Van Horn. Go E (left) to W. Jefferson. Go N (left) to Grosse Ile Parkway over the bridge. The club entrance is ½ mile on the right.

PRACTICE ROUND:  For practice rounds at Grosse Ile G&CC please contact the golf shop for rates and availability of practice rounds - (734) 676-1169. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Sr. / Mid-Am Team Championship contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is two strokes on the first offense and disqualification on any subsequent offense, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

ONE BALL RULE: The One Ball Rule will not be in effect for this championship.

FOOD:   A lunch will be served at the club between the two rounds. Other food and beverage may be purchased at the halfway house.

CADDIES/CARTS:  Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in a cart. There will be no caddies or spectator carts allowed

PRACTICE RANGE: The driving range will open one hour prior to the shotgun start and is complimentary for players, prior to play only.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden death playoff.  Ties for runner-up will be broken by scorecard playoff.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw the night or weekend before, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave a message on voice mail #124.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
