This correspondence verifies your qualification into the 95th GAM Championship at Barton Hills Country Club on August 1-2, 2016. There will be 84 players who will compete over 36 holes on that day with the field being cut to the low 30 and ties for the final 18 holes on Tuesday, August 2nd. Monday’s first round will begin at 8 a.m. with groups going of Nos. 1 and 10. Tuesday’s second round will begin at 8:00 a.m. off of No. 1.
Note: Should there be a need to adjust second round tee times, players will be notified when they return their first round scorecards. Be sure to confirm your afternoon starting time before leaving the scoring area.
TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time.

DIRECTIONS: ALTERNATE ROUTE DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON M-14 - Take US-23 to the Territorial Road exit. Go W on Territorial Road. Turn S on Whitmore Lake Road to Barton North Road. Turn W on Barton North Road to the clubhouse.

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Push Carts will be allowed. Caddies must walk. Barton Hills will have limited caddies available for $50 plus tip. You must call by July 27th or earlier to reserve a Barton Hills caddie. Carts are not permitted for caddies or spectators.
LODGING: A block of rooms are reserved at Holiday Inn Express Inn & Suites – Ann Arbor (West) 323 N. Zeeb Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Please contact 734-827-1100 and the group block name is “Golf Association of Michigan” and the group code is “GOM”. The cut-off date is July 13th.
PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 662-4955. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Championship contestant to receive the discounted rate of $50, which includes a cart. Tee times are available on Saturday and Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is two strokes on the first offense and disqualification on any subsequent offense, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
FOOD: A complimentary lunch will be available on the first day of the competition. Food will be available for purchase on the other day of the competition.
PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden death playoff. Ties for runner-up will be broken by scorecard playoff.
