Championship Player Memo

This correspondence will verify your entry into the 12th Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Travis Pointe Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, July 6-7, 2015.

* Please be aware Monday’s Matches will begin in the Afternoon.*

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to Exit 175 (Ann Arbor-Saline Rd.). Go S on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd, go to 1st stop sign. Turn L (E) to stay on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. Continue to 1st traffic light (Pleasant Lake Rd. /Travis Pointe Rd.) Turn L (N) on Travis Pointe Rd. and go ¼ mile to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS:  2829 Travis Pointe Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48108

LODGING: A block of rooms has been reserved for the night of Monday July 6th at the Comfort Inn & Suites University South, 3501 South State St. Ann Arbor, MI 48108. The group rate is $94 plus taxes and your reservation must be made by June 1 in order to receive that rate. Please call (734) 761-8838 and state you are with the Golf Association of Michigan.

PRACTICE ROUND:   Please contact Travis Pointe Country Club for availability.  Call (734) 662-5703 and identify yourself as a Michigan Women’s Senior Amateur competitor. Please be aware and understand that the weekend prior to the championship is Independence Day. Tee time availability might be limited due to the courses restrictions.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  The Clubhouse will have food available to purchase.  Complimentary lunch will be served between rounds on July 7 for contestants only.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to take a cart.  Only two carts per group.  Caddies are not permitted during any phase of the Championship. Carts are not permitted for spectators.

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the days of the competition, prior to play only.  Practice Range opens daily one hour before the first tee time.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

MATCH PLAY – USGA General numerical draw shall be used.  The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as      necessary for the match to be won.

AM- Consolation Matches in all flights
