Congratulations! This correspondence verifies your qualifying into the 37th Michigan Junior State Amateur Championship at Polo Fields G&CC – Washtenaw in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30, 2015.
Format and Competition Schedule:
Monday, July 27 – 36 holes, stroke play; the low 32 players will proceed to match play. A tie for the medalist honors as well as the 32nd spot, shall be decided immediately after the completion of the second round by a hole-by-hole playoff.
Note: If a player qualifies and is unable to compete in the Match Play Championship, he must notify the Committee immediately so that the next eligible player may be included.
Match Play: The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won. General numerical USGA draw shall be used.
Tuesday, July 28
AM- First round match play, 18 holes
Wednesday, July 29
AM – Second round match play, 18 holes
PM – Quarterfinal Matches, 18 holes
Thursday, July 30
AM – Semifinal round, 18 holes
PM – Final round, 18 holes
Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.
Note: Should there be a need to adjust second round starting times, players will be notified when they return their first round scorecards. Be sure to confirm your afternoon starting time before leaving the scoring area.

DIRECTIONS: Take US-23 to exit 37A (Washtenaw Avenue). Go E 1 1/3 miles to Golfside Road. Go S on Golfside ½ mile to Packard Road. Go E – club will be on the right.

LODGING: A block of rooms has been arranged at the Holiday Inn Express – Ann Arbor West – Zeeb Rd, 323 N. Zeeb Rd, Ann Arbor, 48103. The group rate is $109/night. Please call 734-827-1100 for reservations and identify yourself as a Michigan Junior State Amateur participant. The room block rate ends as of July 3rd.
PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 434-2040. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Junior State Amateur contestants.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
CADDIES/CARTS: No caddies are allowed during any phase of the Championship. All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag. Carts are not permitted for spectators. Pull carts will be allowed for the championship per the host clubs discretion.
FOOD: Monday: A complimentary lunch will be served only to the participants involved with the Michigan Junior State Amateur. Lunch will be served between the morning and afternoon rounds. On all other days the clubhouse will have food available for purchase.
GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players prior to play on the days of the competition. The range will be open 1 hour prior to the first tee time of each day.
PLAYOFF: In case of ties for the final spots into the match play, there will be a sudden death playoff.
