This correspondence will verify your entry into the GAM Women’s Championship at Spring Lake Country Club on Monday-Tuesday, July 7-8, 2014.


TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

CADDIESA player is prohibited from having a parent or guardian serve as her caddie during a stipulated round.

2ND ROUND PAIRINGS: Will be available via and via phone; a number will be posted on the scoreboard.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / GAM Women’s Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS:  Take US-31 to the MI-104 exit. Go E on M-104 to Fruitport Rd. Go N ½ mile to club.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Range will open one hour before the first tee time.

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn, Spring Lake, 940 W. Savidge Spring Lake, MI 49456 for a group rate of $104.95. plus taxes(single or double occupancy). For a reservation, you must call 616) 846-1000 by June 6, 2014, and identify yourself as a contestant in the Golf Association of Michigan.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (616) 850-1153.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Championship contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. A prohibited device shall include any cell phone or smart phone (e.g., i-phone, blackberry, etc.) capable of operating an application for yardage or other conditions of golf information

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be available on both days of the competition after play. 

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk.  Pull carts may be used if the club allows them.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by a method recommended by the USGA.  This method states that we match cards to determine the winner based on the best score for the last nine holes. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) low gross finishers. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Betty Richart Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
