This correspondence will verify your entry into the GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Gull Lake Country Club on Wednesday July 16th and Thursday July 17th

INFORMATION

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

2nd ROUND PAIRINGS:  Will be available via www.gam.org and via phone. A number will be posted on the scoreboard.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to exit 80 (Sprinkle Road). Go N 5 miles to Gull Road. Go E on Gull Road into Richland. Turn left (N) on M-43 at the stop light. Go 2 miles to BC Avenue. Turn right on BC Avenue, which becomes Gull Lake Road and follow about 1 ½ miles to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS:  9725 Gull Lake Road, Richland, MI 49083.

LODGING: A block of rooms has been arranged at the Four Points by Sheraton (Kalamazoo), for a group rate of $ 89 plus taxes (single or double occupancy). For a reservation, you must call by June 27, and identify yourself as a contestant in the GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (269) 629-9311.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Mid-Amateur contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. A PROHIBITED DEVICE SHALL INCLUDE ANY CELL PHONE OR SMART PHONE (E.G., I-PHONE, BLACKBERRY, ETC.) CAPABLE OF OPERATING AN APPLICATION FOR YARDAGE OR OTHER CONDITIONS OF GOLF INFORMATION

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be available each day in the clubhouse after each round for competitors only.

CADDIES/CARTS: Automotive transportation is mandatory in this Championship and cart fees are included in the entry fee. Only two carts per group will be allowed. Caddies are not permitted. No spectators will be allowed to ride in carts

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Range will be open one hour before first tee time.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be decided by the card matching method recommended by the USGA.  (Appendix I, Part C, paragraph 11). It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the low gross and the low net finishers in each flight based on the number of applicants in the field.  The senior division flights and the overall low gross winner and runner-up. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Jeanne L. Myers Trophy.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
