Championship Player Memo

This correspondence verifies your qualification into the 2nd GAM Net Match Play Championship at Grosse Ile G & CC on Tuesday, June 11, 2013

                             FIRST DAY - SHOTGUN    8:00 AM

TEE TIME: Tuesday morning play will be a SHOTGUN at 8:00 AM. Please arrive at Grosse Ile in plenty of time so that we can start on time.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Open one hour before the shotgun.

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / Net Championships / Net Match Play Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS:  Take I-75 to exit 32 (West Road). Go E on West Road to Allen Road. Go S (right) to Van Horn. Go E (left) to W. Jefferson. Go N (left) to Grosse Ile Parkway over the bridge. The club entrance is ½ mile on the right.

CADDIES/CARTS:  Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. Entry fee covers cart fees for both the qualifiers and the Championship. Note: Only Competitors may ride in a Cart.  Spectators are prohibited from riding.

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 21500 West Road, Woodhaven, MI 48183. The group rate is $89.99 plus taxes and your reservation must be made by May 20, 2013, in order to receive that rate. Please call 734-362-0933 and use the group code GAM. If ten rooms are not sold in the block by that date, the rooms revert to the standard rate plus tax.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Call the pro shop directly at (734) 676-1169 to make arrangements for a practice round.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

FOOD:  Complimentary lunch will be provided between the stroke play and the first round of match play on Tuesday.

PLAYOFF: In case of a tie for the final spots in match play, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held as soon as the final stroke play scores have been posted.  The stipulated round will be extended in the matches until a winner is determined.

PRIZES:  Awards will be given to the Champion, Runner-Up and medalist in stroke play.
