This correspondence will verify your entry into the GAM Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Indian River Golf Club on August 27 and 28, 2012.
CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available at www.gam.org, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / Women’s Championship / Women’s Senior – Course Setup.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to exit 310. Go left 1 mile to Old 27 then north on Old 27 ½ mile to Prospect Street. West on Prospect ¼ mile to Chippewa Beach Road. Course is just north of town.
CLUB ADDRESS: 3301 Chippewa Beach Road, Indian River, MI 49749.
LODGING: A block of rooms have been reserved at Crooked River Lodge in Alanson. Reservations must be made prior to July 28th due to peak season. Players can reserve a room at $99 per night by calling 866-548-0700 and by noting they are a part of the GAM Women's Senior. A block of rooms has also been reserved at Hometown Inn in Indian River. Reservations must be made by July 25th, a reduced rate of $109 per night is available if you mention being with the GAM Women's Senior group. You can reach the Hometown Inn at (231) 238-3000.
PRACTICE ROUND: Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Senior Amateur Championship contestants. Indian River pro shop - (231) 238-7011.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
The first round will be conducted by tee times; the second round will be a shotgun start.
CADDIES/CARTS: Use of motorized cart is mandatory for all players.
FOOD: A complimentary lunch will be provided on both Monday and Tuesday.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players prior to play on each day of the competition. The range will be open one hour before the first tee time.
PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted. All other ties will be broken by the scorecard playoff that is used and recommended by the USGA. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.
PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the low gross and low net finishers in each flight. The overall low gross scorer will have her name engraved on the Sara Wold Trophy.
