Michigan Net Amateur Championship at Plum Hollow Country Club on Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

 

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @ GAM.org, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / Net Championships / Net Amateur Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-696 to M10/Lodge Frwy. Take the Lodge south to Lahser Road. Go south on Lahser to the club. Club is on the west side of Lahser halfway between 8 Mile Road and 9 Mile Road.

CLUB ADDRESS:  21631 Lahser Road, Southfield, MI 48034.

  

LODGING:  A block of rooms has been set aside at the Hampton Inn, Northwestern Highway, Southfield, for $69 plus taxes. Please call 248-356-5500 by August 20, 2012, to receive this rate. Please identify yourself as a Michigan Net Am golfer.

ENTRY FEE: ALL QUALIFIERS MUST RE-SUBMIT AN  ENTRY AND PAY THE ADDITIONAL $110 FEE TO PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (248) 353-3553.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Net Amateur contestants. Only contestants will be allowed a practice round - no friends. Pull carts are not allowed at Plum Hollow CC.

 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. A PROHIBITED DEVICE SHALL INCLUDE ANY CELL PHONE OR SMART PHONE (E.G., I-PHONE, BLACKBERRY, ETC.) CAPABLE OF OPERATING AN APPLICATION FOR YARDAGE OR OTHER CONDITIONS OF GOLF INFORMATION

 

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.


FOOD: 
There is a complimentary luncheon for players only following  Wednesday’s round of golf.  The clubhouse will also have food available for purchase.

 

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to ride. ONLY COMPETITORS MAY RIDE IN A CART. Spectators are prohibited from riding.  Caddies are not allowed in any GAM riding event.

 

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  Open one hour before the first tee time.

 

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a three hole playoff (cumulative net) for the overall and division champions. 

 

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24.  Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
