Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your entry into the 3rd GAM Senior Match Play Championship at Battle Creek Country Club on Tuesday through Friday, May 31 – June 3, 2011.

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to Capital Avenue (exit 97). Go N 1 ½ miles to Country Club Drive. Turn left on Country Club Drive.

Tuesday, May 31 – 18 holes, stroke play; the low 32 Senior Players qualify for Match Play & Low 16 qualify for Super Senior Match Play Division

Match Play: General numerical USGA draw shall be used.
The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won.

Wednesday, June 1Morning – 16 Matches for Senior Division & 8 Matches for Super Senior Division
Wednesday, June 1 Afternoon – 8 Matches for Senior Division
Thursday, June 2 Morning – 4 Matches for each Division
Thursday, June 2 Afternoon – 2 Semi-Final Matches for each Division
Friday, June 3 Morning – Final Match for each Division

LODGING: Hampton Inn Battle Creek, 1150 Riverside Dr., Battle Creek, 49017. Phone 269-979-5577. A block of rooms has been reserved. The rate on May 30 or 31 is $99, and on June 1 or 2 is $109 plus taxes. The rate includes a full hot breakfast. Please call by May 17, 2011, to receive that rate and use the code word GAM.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (269) 962-6121. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Senior Match Play contestants.

FOOD: On Tuesday lunch will be provided for the players. Afternoon players should plan on eating before their round. The clubhouse will have food available for purchase on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

CADDIES/CARTS: Carts are mandatory for all players. Entry fee covers cart for the entire competition.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Open 7:30 a.m.

GPS AND RANGEFINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. A PROHIBITED DEVICE SHALL INCLUDE ANY CELL PHONE OR SMART PHONE (E.G., I-PHONE, BLACKBERRY, ETC.) CAPABLE OF OPERATING AN APPLICATION FOR YARDAGE OR OTHER CONDITIONS OF GOLF INFORMATION.

PLAYOFF: A sudden death playoff for the final spot(s) in both divisions will take place immediately after the final scores have been posted.

WITHDRAWAL: If you have to withdraw the night or weekend before, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
