Championship Player Memo

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to exit 266 (Marysville). Go E on Gratiot to Huron Blvd. Huron Blvd dead ends at River Road. Go S on River Road to the club on the right.

CLUB ADDRESS: 1714 N. River Road, St. Clair, MI 48079.

LODGING: Blue Water Inn, St. Clair – 810-329-2261 (across from the club). Please call as soon as possible to receive the special rate of $70.27 (all taxes included), and mention that you are a Michigan Women’s Amateur contestant. There are no rooms available Sunday night. You might be able to find a room on Sunday night at the Quality Inn in Port Huron.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD: The Clubhouse will have food available to purchase.

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Carts are not permitted for caddies or spectators. Pull carts may be used.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the days of the competition, prior to play only. Range opens daily at 7:00 a.m.

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.

SWEET 16 DINNER: Players who reach the Sweet 16 (win one match on Wednesday) are requested to attend the sweet sixteen dinner in their honor on Wednesday, July 28 , 2010, at St. Clair River CC in the dining room. The reception will start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:00 p.m. All Michigan Woman Amateur Contestants and guests are welcome to attend. Guests will be charged a fee of $25 per person. Any player who advances to the round of sixteen will be a guest of the GAM. Dressy attire!!


STROKE PLAY - 36 hole qualifying to determine 32 players for match play.

Monday July 26 - First round, 18 holes, stroke play. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM

Tuesday July 27 - Second round, 18 holes, stroke play. Should there be a tie for final qualifying spots, a sudden death playoff shall start immediately after all scores have been posted. Tee times begin at 8:00AM

MATCH PLAY – USGA General numerical draw shall be used. The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as necessary for the match to be won.

Wednesday July 28Round of 32, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM

Thursday July 29 AM – Round of 16, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM
PM – Round of 8, 18 holes

Friday July 30AM – Semifinal matches, 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8:00 AM
PM – Final Match, 18 holes
