TO:GAM Tournament of Club Champions ContestantsDATE: 9/28/2009 FROM:Ken Hartmann, Director of Rules & Competitions SUBJECT:GAM Tournament of Champions @ Oakland University Golf & Learning Center This correspondence will verify your entry into the GAM Tournament of Champions at Oakland University Golf & Learning Center on Monday, October 5, 2009. Men will play the Katke Cousins Course. Women will play the R&S Scharf Course. Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter. INFORMATION DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to University Drive (Exit 79) then go east to Squirrel Road, where Oakland University's main entrance is located. Turn left on Squirrel Road. Turn right at Walton Boulevard. Turn right at Adams Road. Turn right at the east entrance to Oakland University’s campus and follow the signs to OU Golf & Learning Center. CLUB ADDRESS: 2200 N. Squirrel Road, Rochester, Michigan 48309 LODGING: Hilton Suites of Auburn Hills 2300 Featherstone Road, Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA 48326 – (248) 322-2303. Please mention that you are a competitor in the GAM Tournament of Champions to receive the preferred rate of $78 per night. PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability on the (248) 364-6300. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Tournament of Champions contestants. Men will play the Katke Cousins Course. Women will play the R&S Scharf Course. RANGEFINDERS/GPS: Rangefinders are allowed in this championship. CELL PHONES: The use of a cell phone during the stipulated round is not permitted. ONE BALL RULE: The One Ball Rule will be in effect for this championship. FOOD: A continental breakfast will be available at both courses at 7:45 a.m. A complimentary lunch for players only will be provided after the round. Other food and beverage may be purchased at the halfway house. CADDIES/CARTS: Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in a cart. There will be no caddies allowed. PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Open 7:30 a.m. PLAYOFF: A playoff for the Championship will take place immediately after the final scores have been posted. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee. WITHDRAWAL: If you have to withdraw the night or weekend before then please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
