Michigan Girls Junior State Amateur Championship at Country Club of Jackson Monday - Wednesday, July 6-8, 2009. Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter. DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to exit 142. Go S on US-127 for 5.5 miles to M-50 W. Keep left as you come to the stop light.. Turn left (W) on M-50/McDivitt. Go 1.5 miles to 90 degree turn to right, road becomes Francis. Continue on Francis about 300 feet and turn left on Hinckley. Go about 1 mile, then turn left on Badgley. Go 1 mile on Badgley to stop light. Turn left ontp Horton Rd. which jogs to the right almost immediately. Go 1 mile further, club is on your left. PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (517) 782-5347. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Girls Junior Amateur contestants. GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted. Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code. FOOD: Tuesday: A complimentary buffet will be served to all of the participants after completion of the second round. On all other days the clubhouse will have food available for purchase. CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants must carry their own bag, caddies are not permitted. Carts are not permitted for players or spectators. Pull carts may be used if the club allows. PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Open one hour before the first tee time. PLAYOFF: In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot. The low 8 players in the tournament qualify for match play. A tie for the medalist honors as well as the 8th spot, shall be decided immediately after the completion of the 2nd round by a hole-by-hole playoff. Note: If a player qualifies and is unable to compete in the Match Play Championship, she must notify the Committee immediately so that the next eligible player may be included. Match Play: General numerical USGA draw shall be used. The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won. WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
