Championship Player Memo
This correspondence will verify your qualification for the GAM Championship at Travis Pointe Country Club on Monday, August 10th, 2009. There will be 84 players who will compete over 36 holes on that day with the field being cut to the low 30 and ties for the final 18 holes on Tuesday, August 11th.

Please note your starting time and starting tee assignment from the enclosed pairing sheets. You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

Note: Should there be a need to adjust second round tee times, players will be notified when they return their first round scorecards. Be sure to confirm your afternoon starting time before leaving the scoring area.


CHAMPIONSHIP YARDAGE: Available @, under Tournaments / GAM Championships / GAM Championship – Course Setup.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to exit 175 (Ann Arbor-Saline Road). Go S on Ann Arbor-Saline Road to the 1st stop sign. Turn left (E) to stay on Ann Arbor-Saline Road. Continue to 1st traffic light (Pleasant Lake Road/Travis Pointe Road) Turn left (N) on Travis Pointe Road, and go ¼ mile to the club.

CLUB ADDRESS: 2829 Travis Pointe Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.

LODGING: Best Western Executive Plaza, 2900 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor (734) 665-4444 – just off I-94 at exit 172. Please identify yourself as a GAM contestant to get the special rate of $82 plus tax.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 662-5703. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Championship contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance ONLY. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

FOOD: A complimentary lunch will be available on the first day of the competition. Food will be available for purchase on the other day of the competition.

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Carts are not permitted for caddies or spectators. Pull carts are allowed as long as Travis Pointe allows them.

PRACTICE RANGE: Opens at 6:30 a.m. and is complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden death playoff. Ties for runner-up will be broken by scorecard playoff.

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave message on voice mail #24. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
