Grosse Pointe Farms' historic Country Club of Detroit will play host to the 107th Michigan Amateur for the sixth time when the state’s most prestigious amateur championship heads to this legendary venue June 19-23.

Hosting the Michigan Amateur in 1908, 1910, 1912, 1914, and last in 1929, the Country Club of Detroit hosted the U.S. Amateur in 1915 and in 1954, won by the late Arnold Palmer. The club also plays host to the Turning Point Invitational. Started in 2004, this invitational has seen the like of past U.S. Amateur champions, such as Phil Mickelson and Mark O'Meara.

For competitors not exempt, sectional qualifying for the 107th Michigan Amateur will be contested at 15 sites from May 9-June 2. There will also be a Second Chance Qualifier held at Owosso Country Club on June 6. You must post an 18-hole score in one of the sectional qualifiers to be eligible to compete in the Second Chance Qualifier.

The Michigan Amateur begins with two rounds of stroke play, over a two-day period. At the completion of stroke play, the field is cut to the low 64 for the first round of match play. Match play continues for three days and six rounds until a champion emerges on the final afternoon of the tournament. As with all GAM Championships, spectators are welcome and admission is free.
